Layout Difference<\/h2>\n

A townhome is designed to spread its square footage over the course of several floors. Most townhomes have two or three floors, providing a level of privacy that you can’t find in an apartment. If you are not a fan of stairs, or find them difficult to climb regularly, then you may want to consider an apartment.<\/p>\n

Apartments come in a variety of square footage options, but they are always on the same floor. In most cases, you’ll get more room in a townhome, but you can get various bedrooms or an open studio option in an apartment that may be easier for you. <\/p>\n

Neighbors and Noise<\/h2>\n

In a townhome, you may have a neighbor on both sides of you, but not above or below you. This means that you’ll have less noise and more privacy. If you rent a townhome at the end of a row, you are limited to just one neighbor. Apartments, however, can have neighbors below you, beside you, and above you, increasing the amount of noise that you hear and the amount of privacy that you might get. <\/p>\n

Cost<\/h2>\n

If you decide to rent a townhome, be prepared that it will likely be more expensive than the apartment. This is because of the square footage, convenience, and privacy. If you are restricted to a certain budget, then you might want to consider moving forward with an apartment.<\/p>\n
